Find out why the student enrollment in Australia are on a surge

A surge has been witnessed in Australian student enrollment compared to the departures between December 2021 and March 2022, which was anticipated to delay due to the global health crisis. According to a report recently published by Independent Australia, 97,350 more students were arriving in December for the previous year in comparison to the ones leaving. It claimed that in 2020, a QS whitepaper revealed that a third of students who intended to pursue overseas education were unable to begin their studies due to delays in the processing of their visa applications as a result of the COVID-19 situation.

Now the question arises, why did Australia suddenly witness an increasing amount of student enrollment?

  1. Unlimited Working Hours

Most countries after the heavy wave of Covid-19 have relaxed the border regulations, persuading more and more students to choose the finest study abroad solutions. Recently the Australian authorities uncapped the fixed working hours restrictions for the students, pushing them to choose Australia as their study abroad destination.

  • Fast-Track Visa Application

The Economic Times reported in October 2022 that Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, said that the number of Indian students had climbed by 89% since 2021 and that skilled worker visas were being handled more quickly. The Indian Express states that achieving the 15-day work service criterion by the end of 2022 is the primary objective for student visa applications. Fortunately, according to the British High Commissioner, they are on schedule and he believes he can stay on schedule for the upcoming several weeks.

  • Top-Notch Education

Six of the top 100 universities offering students top-notch education are located in Australia. According to the Ranking of the National Higher Education System, the educational system is ranked in the eighth position. Australia offers a list of courses that educate students for the competitive economy, offering 22,000 courses at 1,100 universities.

  • Low cost of living

The low cost of living and wide range of scholarship opportunities offered by Australian colleges are a bonus for the students. Australian living expenses are far lower than those in the US and the UK, and the university’s substantial scholarship program ensures that students receive only the best materials to advance their professional chances.

Due to unrestricted employment opportunities, more students are applying for visas to obtain hidden employment so they can witness career progression and better employment opportunities.
