As per an open doors report which was released by the Institute of International Education (IIE), students from Vietnam proudly represent the fifth largest group of international students. However, when compared to last year’s report, Vietnam landed in the 6th position which means adequate progress is reported with another year passing by.
According to US Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Genevieve Judson-Jourdain, “as the United States approaches the 10th Anniversary of U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership, the Open Doors data is demonstrable proof that education remains a cornerstone of the bilateral relationship, while the nature of our current educational cooperation is already strategic.”
Statistics have some good news to share with us, as it indicates that the number of Vietnamese students in all U.S institutions have gradually increased, which is persuading more students to choose finest solutions abroad. The numbers are as follows:
- Graduate Programs- increased by 6.5%
- Non-degree programs- increased by 23.3%
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) programs- 4.4%
Vietnam has become the largest source of international students to study abroad beating the US authorities as quoted by the US Embassy and Consulate in Vietnam.
